A canalside residential scheme at Brentford Lock West has received a prestigious award from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

The second phase of the development by Waterside Places received a RIBA National Award in June for its work. Waterside Places is a joint venture between Muse Developments and the Canal and River Trust.

The second phase of development at Brentford Lock West, designed by architects Mae, has provided 157 new homes along the banks of the Grand Union Canal. The wider scheme of Brentford Lock West has now in total won six RIBA awards.

The RIBA Awards are annual architecture prizes celebrating the best-designed buildings in the UK.

James Stockdale, development manager at Waterside Places, said: “Brentford Lock West is an exciting project which is transforming the banks of the Grand Union Canal and delivering high-quality new homes in a unique waterside setting.

“It’s absolutely brilliant news for the development to be recognised on a national stage and win yet another RIBA National Award. Its success is down to its true partnership approach and the hard work of the whole team.”
