Public consultation for housing strategy

A public consultation is running until August 1 to get opinions on Hounslow Councilís draft Housing Strategy, which includes proposals for new homes to meet housing need.
The draft strategy for 2019-2024 also discusses how to provide affordable housing, reduce homelessness, raise housing quality and create a greener environment.
It includes investment plans around fire safety and talks about continuing the pledge to deliver 5,000 new homes by 2022.
Hounslow Council leader, Councillor Steve Curran, said: “Our draft housing strategy sets out our ambition for providing high quality housing for our residents, improved mixed communities, and our response to the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
“It is particularly poignant that two years after the Grenfell Tower fire, we are demonstrating how we are responding to changes in policy brought about by that terrible fire and its aftermath and will regenerate our housing estates and improve our housing stock to reflect the highest standards of fire safety for our residents.”
